My font

After searching many sites, I like the font Platelet designed by Conor Mangat.
Below are some info about this font:

- It is inspired by California license plate in 1993. It is created for street signs and of course car license plates.
- Its shapes are very easy to read at a far distance. For example, M and W have shorter center stems which make it easier to read, the word "b" is special to dinstinguish from "d".
I also have found 2 images for this font:

and below is the sound track I intend to use with this font:

My poster exercise

Our next assignment is about social welfare posters, so I think it is good for me to do some practice. Below is the poster I made. In this poster I want to talk about the danger of buses on Vietnam streets. If you have ever travelled on HCM streets, you will understand it. I chose green color because HCM buses are painted with green. My message is that bus drivers are the main reason which causes danger, so we have to make bus drivers more careful on street.

Social welfare poster

Among posters I have found on street, I was most impressed by a HIV poster on Nguyen Hong Thai street. There are two reasons for this. Firstly this poster does not talk about the danger of HIV as in other posters. It has no skulls, bones or blood. Otherwise, it has a friendly yellow theme which can attract attention and create the easy mood. Secondly, the words this poster has used are very friendly. It's like friends talking together.
The words mean: "When consulting, we are experts. When talking, we are friends".
Also, below is an poster for bird flu. I like this because its usage of images is very interesting, funny and can attract attention right away. The words are short and simple but you can see the message easily. You can see for yourself:

My video

I love making and editing video. I have created some videos from I was in highschool for my class. I also like finding useful and powerful video editing softwares. In the break after the last semester, I have found the list of the most popular video editing softwares. I have chosen Unlead Video Studio (which is in the third position). Adobe Premier Element is very famous but it is not in the first three positions because it doesn't have the storyboard view mode which many designers like. Similarly, Nero video editing software goes with Nero package so I don't like it.
Below is the video I have made by myself. I have seen many music clips on MTV so I wish to make my own one. Let take a look and give me advice:

Font exercise

Below is my exercise with fonts and dingbats. I have chosen the word "Terminate" to do illustration. I chose font "Impact" because it is a bold and inorganic typeface. I used this and the red and black theme to make the mood more angry and furious.
I also used arrows and the red triangle to create dynamic. The triangle seems to penetrate the circle as an arrow penetrates target. I like dingbats, they are very interesting, I will find more about them.

Non-format

Non-format is a famous contemporary design team in London, the United Kingdom. Their works focus on book cover and music CD, DVD packaging design. Their style often bases on hand drawing and maximalism. Let's take a look at these works:

Hand drawing is really an essential skill which they have applied effectively in their works. Also, they seem to adopt maximalism everywhere. We can see complex lines, shapes, textures in works above.

And this is the piece I like most:

The lines in this illustration are made by hand so they look very grace and very complex. These lines are mixed with typography to create attraction. The photos chosen are also very suitable and help to confirm the meaning of typography.

My panorama

Panorama is a photograph technique that use small images to create the big one. This technique is often used to capture the picture of a large area or landscape, such as a city, a mountain... I have always wanted to make a panorama by myself and below is the first one I made:
This is only the screen shot of my panorama. The real one is in the big size so I can not post it here. This image has the size of 10600x2521 pixels and is made from 8 images. Once I have made this image, it is very awful when I zoom in and see the small details of houses, windows and trees. I have used the amateur camera Fujifilm F10 to do this. I also used two softwares to stitch these 8 images together: Autopano for stitching and Emblend for blending images. These softwares are very useful, interesting and easy to use. If you guys want to use them, please contact me.
